Parents Should Choose Organic Products For Their Children

Over the last few years, I have noticed that there are more health shops around and more natural and organic products appearing on the market. It's good that consumers are more health conscious and want to make a difference to the environment too. But with so many products available on the market that claim to be 'natural' or 'organic', it can create lots of confusion for consumers.

To ensure that a product is free from pesticides, herbicides and other nasty chemicals, it's best to stick to organic. But know how to identify which ones are real from those that are fake (or green washed)? A product may be claimed as 'organic', but does it have any proof? The only guarantee of their authenticity is independent certification, such as the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) Seal of Approval as shown below. This logo is also commonly found on certified organic foods too.

Why is it better for parents to choose organic products for their children?

It is a disturbing reality that most children are predestined, before conception, to have their body exposed to toxic chemicals from the mother's own exposure. According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), they reported that nearly 300 industrial chemicals are detected in the cord blood of 20 American newborns. Therefore, the mother's own choices of products on her body and her surrounding environment has an impact on her baby's exposure to toxins.

The baby's small body mass means that toxic chemicals are stored in their body at much greater concentrations compared to adults. These harmful toxic chemicals are usually deposited in their fatty tissues and may be linked to a variety of health problems.

Children are also exposed to a wide variety of harmful chemicals from personal care products such as shampoos and body wash. According to an EWG study, they detected that children are exposed to an average of 60 chemicals every day that can be breathed in or are absorbed through their skin. They found that three-quarters of 72 name brand products tested contained a reproductive toxin such as phthalate. Other potentially harmful substances also include carcinogens and parabens.

What's an authentic brand that I can trust?

One of my favorite brands is Miessence certified organic products. I have been using these products for over 3 years now and absolutely love them. They have over 70 certified organic products available for a truly organic lifestyle. Products range from haircare, skincare, bodycare, cosmetics, and superfood nutrition. I highly recommend these products to anyone who is serious about detoxifying their home and their body. They have no nasty chemicals and are truly safe for pregnant women and babies. What is so good about Miessence products?

One of the reasons why these products are so good is because of their ingredients! EVERY ingredient is 100% beneficial to your body. Only certified organic cold-pressed oils, herb and flower extracts, and essential oils are used. There are no synthetic ingredients, only active levels of botanical ingredients. Their cold formulation (unaltered by heat or synthetic emulsifiers) means that your skin is fed with significant quantities of bioavailable nutrients. It's all healthy and good stuff!
